FOUNDATION is part of SHADOWS: A long-term collection of personal encounters from marginalized communities of East Africa.

In the photograph, two women of the Maasai tribe sit hip to hip with both feet planted firming on the ground with piles of golden metal bracelets on their feet.

The artwork supports the ancient African proverb: ''A single bracelet does not jingle.'' A metaphorical phrase about connection and love.
